The ancient Greek word νόστος (nostos) is a common theme in Greek literature describing a hero's journey home.

Nostalgia, the term we use to describe a longing for what has passed, comes from the Greek nostos.

A nostos is a homecoming, or symbolically a return to the past.

It is our job as photographers to take you on a journey. To create photographs that stand the test of time. To help you re-experience and share the fleeting yet precious moments that make up our lives.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

We are a husband and wife team living near Asheville, North Carolina. We live in a beautiful home in the woods with our baby and six pets.

1. We love mountains, and we love beer

We moved from Colorado to Asheville in 2021, and we have not missed out on two things we really enjoy - mountains and beer! We took a short break from photography after my pregnancy in 2023 and have been so excited for the 2024 wedding season!

2. We get creative

Whether painting a piano, building a catio, or planting a garden, we love to think creatively and outside the box!

3. We think weddings should be affordable

Everyone should be able to have high-quality, timeless photos of their special day. We offer custom packages and try to keep things as affordable as possible. How? Sam and I both work full-time jobs (Sam is an Asheville firefighter, and I work as a journalist). We do wedding photography because it’s something that we enjoy!

Whether fixing a bride's hair, getting treats for the flower dog, or making sure the decor is photo-ready, we are your professional bridesmaid and groomsman. Your actual wedding party is busy having a great time!

  • We have driven out at 3 AM to combat light pollution. We have been soaked to the bone in rain and snow. We have climbed barefoot up to the perfect vantage point. We have parked illegally. We have laid down in the mud. There is not much we wouldn't do to get that breathtaking shot.

  • We will capture every big moment. Every tiny detail that you put so much effort into creating. But we will also look for the quiet moments. The secret hugs. The unexpected giggles. The fleeting tears. We love to capture the emotion and the connection between people.

  • We are not afraid of people who hate having their pictures taken. We will not force you to smile or hide your tears. These are moments you only live once, and we want you to be free and natural - your perfectly imperfect selves. We will get you food and alcohol if needed. Sam is also a master at coaxing out grins with his cheesy humor.

  • Documenting a wedding is an immense responsibility. We never over-commit ourselves to make sure we can give every couple the attention and care they deserve. We know telling your love story is a sacred task, and it's one that we don’t take lightly.
